Operation 'Providence' was intended to support the British operations
near Kohima-Imphal, a parachute assault on Indaw was envisaged
but never implemented as it was felt that the Chindit operations
were already a big strain on the available cargo planes. The
plan however was very sound : the two parachute batallions of
50th Indian parachute Brigade would secure the Indaw airfields
for gliderborne reinforcements, seize the nearby town and strike
strike against the Japanese supply lines with the help of airlifted
troops and the Chindits. Now imagine that the cargo planes were
available and the operation wasn't cancelled; would it have been
as succesfull as expected, although the operation would have
been conducted at night (as most Chindit operations) and the
Japanese were still masters at fighting at night? Anyway, given
the strategic location of the village and it's two airstrips,
the Japanese were sure to react swiftly!!

Version 1.1 Notes:

* I've altered the Japanese reinforcement schedule : troops will now be entering the map sooner.
